Metroid - Other M Receives Mixed Responses on Samus Aran's Personality

Metroid: Other M portrays Samus Aran, who previously had very itsybitsy personality to speak of, as a moody character in the game's many cut-scenes. One example where we honestly see Samus' personality brought to light is with her encounter with arch enemy Ridley. This scene honestly brings some of Samus' fans closer to the character on an emotional and sympathetic level, in a way not done in former easy Metroid games. It makes you feel much more inspired to ultimately kill Ridley, the notorious Space Pirate general and evil character of the Metroid series.

Some fans are disappointed with the voice of the protagonists, particularly Samus - I honestly wasn't. I feel that Samus' voice is best fine for a character with such moody, and deep emotions. With that said, some fans are upset with the personality of Samus, as they have their own pre-conceived concept of the character industrialized from whatever of the many earlier Metroid games. Obviously, Nintendo can't please everyone, but their effort wasn't nearly as poor as people made it out to be.

Overall, Nintendo has dramatically improved the game play in Metroid: Other M, especially compared to any other games in the Metroid series. Questions about including voice acting aside, it's still right on a must buy game for all Wii fans, Metroid fans or whatever who loves non-stop operation and adventure.

Although, most part of the game is played in third someone perspective using the Wii Remote, keeping horizontally, it's required to point the Wii Remote towards the screen to play in first someone prospective, to execute some of Samus' moves while solving puzzles or targeting the enemies with beam shot, missile and other scholar weapons that are required to most to kill the bosses. However, it's not possible to take down all the enemies in first someone perspective, since it's not possible to move and view around where the enemies are.
